Taylor Swift fans who didn’t luck out in securing Eras Tour tickets are more likely to see her at the Super Bowl this weekend than getting to one of her shows, new data shows.

The singer, whose Eras Tour is now the highest-grossing tour ever, has seen her ticket resale prices skyrocket, making Taylor Swift fans having to fork out even more if they want a glimpse of the Lover hitmaker. The 34-year-old’s tour was the first to surpass $1 billion in revenue at the end of last year. The huge concert tour began in March 2023 and will end December of this year, with the music star doing 151 shows around the world. However, because of the mania around Taylor Swift, it means fans who are desperate to go to her Eras Tour are being hit with outrageous hikes for resale tickets.

Taylor Swift fans can save money buying Super Bowl tickets over her Eras Tour

New research has found resale tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour are actually, in extreme cases, thousands of dollars less than the Super Bowl.

Action Network, who looked into the prices, found some of the resale listings are more than $80,000. Whereas, the highest-priced Super Bowl LVIII tickets are listed at $72,000. It’s still an incredible amount of money to part with, but it shows the celebrity is in higher demand than the biggest sporting event of the year.

While the Super Bowl is a huge event, it’s believed to be even bigger this year, with rumors advertisers are hoping for a better bang for their buck because of the Taylor Swift effect. The singer has been dating tight end Travis Kelce since September last year, when they were officially a couple.

The hype around the celebrity couple has seen her fans flocking to watch games and become interested in American Football. While there are some doubters, many stars within the NFL, as well as broadcasters, say the 34-year-old has done wonders for the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs are facing off the San Francisco 49ers during Sunday’s game, and the highly-anticipated battle on the field has already seen a record rise in ticket prices – before they even get on resell sites. The cheapest leftover seats are now at $6,869, writes Action Network.

It comes after reports the ‘downside’ of her popularity is leading to hotels and vendors rising their prices, knowing fans will need somewhere to stay during her Eras Tour.

Japanese Embassy chimes in over fears Taylor can’t make it to watch Travis

After the Chiefs stormed to the win against the Baltimore Ravens – which also saw the 34-year-old receive backlash over throwing a rival’s helmet – listeners were trying to work out the math on whether Taylor could make it in time.

She is currently doing four back-to-back shows in Tokyo, which will end on February 10th. The Super Bowl is Sunday afternoon on February 11th. But to help ease fans’ minds if she’d miss out, the Japanese Embassy released a rare statement over it.

They said: “The Embassy of Japan in the United States is aware of recent media reports concerning the steps Taylor Swift will need to take to travel from Tokyo after her concert on February 10th to Las Vegas in time to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play in Super Bowl LVIII.

“Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins.

“We know that many people in Japan are excited to experience Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, so we wanted to confirm that anyone concerned can be Fearless in knowing that this talented performer can wow Japanese audiences and still make it to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs when they take the field for the Super Bowl wearing Red.”

It comes after a fan even made an entire presentation to work out if she’d have time to rest and get ready for the game, and he showed his wife and her friends the hilarious final results.

So if you missed out on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour – just buy Super Bowl tickets instead to see her!
