Days after reports of Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied’s separation broke, sources are now claiming the actress knows her husband regrets his ‘alleged affair’.
The celebrity couple had been together for 14 years before going their separate ways. They met and fell on love on the set of the movie Black Swan, in 2009.
Rumors Natalie and Benjamin’s marriage was ‘on the rocks’ began in June
In June, rumors spread about the French dancer having an affair with 25-year-old climate activist, Camille Étienne.
Speculation the two had separated began on Friday, August 4 when the actress was seen without her wedding ring on their 11th wedding anniversary. She was spotted at an Angel City FC event in Sydney, Australia. On her own Instagram, Natalie hasn’t posted photos that show both her hands clearly.
On August 7, it was announced that Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied had separated after 11 years of marriage.
Neither party has addressed the split or cheating allegations or rumors publicly.
Natalie Portman ‘knows’ Benjamin Millepied ‘regrets what he did’
As reports suggested Benajamin’s infidelity was the reason for the rumored split, sources have now told US Weekly that the Hollywood actress knows her husband ‘regrets what he did’.
“She has no doubt he regrets what he did,” a source claims, adding that “things just haven’t been the same” since. “It was a really humiliating scenario for Natalie.”
A second source says the pair “tried to work things out” to no avail. “The damage was done. She couldn’t forgive him and is taking a break for now.”
However, the insider also claims that: “The spark has been missing for a really long time.” Despite everything that has gone on in the relationship, the source claims: Portman still thinks Millepied “is a great dad” to their two children.

The couple’s relationship timeline
Natalie and Benjamin began dating in 2009. It came after meeting on the set of Portman’s film Black Swan, for which Millepied was a choreographer.
Just a year later, Natalie and Benjamin were engaged and expecting their first child which was reportedly “a bit of a shock”.
Their first child, son Aleph, was born in June 2011, and they tied the knot a year later, in 2012. The couple expanded their family once again in 2017, welcoming daughter Amalia.
In August 2022, the two publically gushed over each other via Instagram for their tenth anniversary. Portman penned: “It keeps getting better”.
However, Ben’s ‘cheating allegations’ were revealed in June 2023, with their split announcement coming just two months later.
