Every Christmas season, The Salvation Army helps prepare meal boxes for local families in need. The goal is to ensure that all of these families will have a Christmas dinner provided for them. Howard Industries partners with The Salvation Army and the Grocery Depot of Laurel to see this goal come to fruition. The Grocery Depot of Laurel donated 318 boxes of macaroni and cheese, and Howard employees purchased 318 boxes of stuffing to be donated for this cause. Thanks to Grocery Depot’s donation, part of the money raised by Howard Industries’ employees was able to be donated directly to The Salvation Army to further help provide for those in need during this holiday season. Howard Industries’ employees also purchased Christmas gifts for 175 children in need, this year through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. This program is designed to make sure every child has a present this Christmas. Michael Howard, CEO of Howard Industries, said, “It’s uplifting to know that there has been no shortage of generosity from our employees for this year’s angel tree and meal box donations. The main reason for the season is Jesus. Also, the children of this community want to feel needed and loved, so we want to help participate with The Salvation Army. There could not be a better way to celebrate the holidays than to help ensure that children and their families have a Merry Christmas.” (Photos submitted)
