Terry Landrum Denton
Terry Landrum Denton, 61, was born on March 19, 1962, in Key West, Fla., to Elton and Dorothy Landrum. Terry passed away on Nov. 1, 2023 in Jackson. Terry was interred at Suffolk, Va., on Nov. 16, 2023.
Terry graduated from West Jones High School in 1979 and enlisted into the U.S. Navy like her dad and her sisters before her. She completed boot camp and Radioman “A” School and was stationed in Florida, California, Virginia, Italy and Meridian. Terry retired from the Navy and recently, she and her husband Kent Denton, retired from the “Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) – the 700 Club” in Virginia Beach, Va. Terry was a committed and devoted believer and follower of Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord.
Terry volunteered in many ways to help veterans and especially with Honor Flights that came to visit Washington D.C.
Terry is survived by her husband Kent of Virginia; her parents Elton and Dorothy Landrum of Ovett; her children Elizabeth (EJ Alvarez) of Maryland, Serra (Chris Miller) of Maryland and Kimberly and Marc Jett of Maryland; her grandchildren Evelyn and Emilia Alvarez, Jett and Annelise Miller, and Kaelyn, William and Lilly Jett. She also leaves behind her sisters Jo Anne Landrum Freeman of Meridian and Debrah Landrum West of Ovett; and other family and friends.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church on Highway 15 South in Ovett. Pastor Ricky Mitchell will lead with Scripture and prayer and there will be a time of sharing.
